Charles F. Erekson serves as Vice Provost for Planning and Administration. In addition to overseeing the operation of the Provost's office, he provides support to the Provost in the areas of strategic planning, policy analysis and development, financial planning, and human resource planning. He supervises the Registrar's Office and is the executive representative for the student administration system of the University Administrative Systems Steering Committee. He also serves as the University's representative on the Executive Committee of the West Coast Conference. Prior to his current administrative position, Dr. Erekson was Associate Vice Provost for University Planning (1997-2001), Assistant Vice President for Student Development (1991-96), and Dean of Students (1981-91). He has taught undergraduate leadership classes in the Leavey School of Business and occasionally teaches in the graduate program in Higher Education Administration of the School of Education, Counseling Psychology, and Pastoral Ministries. Before coming to Santa Clara in 1981, he was Coordinator of Management and Planning Services for the Oregon State Board of Higher Education and served in administrative roles at Oregon Institute of Technology, Oregon State University, and East Texas State University. Dr. Erekson received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas Christian University (1968), a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from East Texas State University (1970), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration from Oregon State University (1975).
