Interim Director Appointed

Denise Krane, Lecturer in Santa Clara University’s Department of English, will serve as Interim Director of the HUB Writing Center during the 2013-14 academic year. Denise has been at Santa Clara since 2007, and she teaches courses in critical thinking and writing and advanced writing. She received an MA in English Literature with a focus on Rhetoric and Composition Pedagogy from the University of Oregon in 2003. She has worked as a writing tutor, a tutor trainer, a Writing Workshop Coordinator, and an ESL instructor at the University of Oregon and the University of California, Davis. She also has been a member of the International Writing Center Association since 2008, and she regularly presents professional papers at conferences on pedagogy, rhetoric, and composition.

At Santa Clara, Denise has been an active supporter of HUB events and programs and has regularly taught the English Department course designed to train student writing partners to work in the HUB.

Denise is looking forward to continuing the strong tradition of celebrating and supporting writing at Santa Clara through the HUB.
