Campus Publications

Santa Clara University has a wide range of publishing opportunities for students, faculty, and members outside the university's community. These opportunities range from blogs to news and information about University achievements during the academic year. These publications are available at www.scu.edu/scunews/publications.cfm. In addition to the publication avenues on this webpage, students can also submit their work to The Santa Clara Review, OneWorld, and The Santa Clara newspaper.

OneWorld is Santa Clara's only student-run social justice magazine. OneWorld takes submissions from any Santa Clara students who are interested in showcasing their writing, photography, or artwork that deals with social justice issues. OneWorld encourages students to become part of the team and help with editing, copy editing, and designing layout for the magazine which is distributed annually in the spring. Though Santa Clara's OneWorld does not have its own website yet, questions and interest regarding the magazine can be directed toward Matt Smith in Campus Ministry.

For the past six months many Santa Clara students have poured their hearts and time into creating a magazine that addresses issues of social justice that they have experienced firsthand. Many of you have supported them in their journeys. It is because of the multitude of opportunities and experiences offered through SCU that this magazine exists. The topics covered this year range from bilingual education in San Jose to sex workers in India, graffiti art for social justice to the lives of street children in Portland. We hope you will take a look.

Please join these students as they officially release the magazine this week.

    From the Director-

Sustainability is the new watchword. Before arriving at Santa Clara three years ago, I ranked “sustainability” with the likes of “post-modernism” as concepts regularly used on college campuses but elusive to define. I did my best when I tossed an empty water bottle into the recycle bin. But that was it, and I was quite satisfied. This issue of explore challenges my naive preconceptions and, I trust, yours. The message in the pages that follow is a simple one: as citizens of a globalizing world we need to call forth a culture of sustainability now for the sake of future generations....

The Santa Clara is the University's award-winning, nationally-recognized student-run campus newspaper. Students can apply to write, report, or design for TSC. Students are also encouraged to contribute op-ed pieces to the Opinion section.
  • undefinedThe Santa Clara Review

The student-edited Santa Clara Review provides Santa Clara students, as well as faculty and writers beyond the Santa Clara community, with the opportunity to publish their fiction, non-fiction, poetry, photography, or art pieces. The review accepts submissions biannually for the Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer issues. The chosen pieces of writing and art are then compiled into a bound copy that is distributed within the Santa Clara community and for purchase. The writers whose submissions are chosen for the review are awarded two free copies of the issue which displays their work.
