On Monday, October 7th, a classmate and I observed Yolanda's Market and Catering for an hour.  We went from 6:00-7:00PM, roughly around dinner time. While approaching the store we noticed that there was not much foot traffic going by the store and that cars were just zooming by.  While in the store, two families entered the store.  The "slot machine" seemed to be the main attention for one family. While they were there, they bought some snacks and a friend of theres stopped by the store.  This made me begin to see Yolanda's as a meeting place/hang out for nearby residents.  Yolanda can definitely use the residential location that she is in, to her advantage.

Yolanda's has a lot of potential and I am excited to work with her over these next few months! Being a part of this class will allow me to understand more about the community we live in and put my classroom knowledge towards bettering this neighborhood. This is going to be a memorable and unique experience, and I can't wait to dive in!
