Santa Clara University's Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative met as a group last Friday, March 7 to discuss business plans. Each group discussed the business they are working with and how they plan to go to work and assist where they can. Every group had a plethora of good strategic ideas to propose to their respective small businesses.

I know I am not the only one who could not be more excited to get to work with my business and implement the business plan my team came up with. The business my team is working with is a small restaurant in San Jose called La Mejor Taqueria. My team and I have come up with our priorities for what elements of the business we will focus on improving. We are looking to refurnish the restaurant’s painted walls and menu to make it more aesthetically pleasing. We plan on rearranging the storage areas to get the most out of the small venue. In addition, we will assist the employees in keeping track of the finances to better track the sales and expenses of the business. I cannot wait to collaborate with my team again to put our collective efforts toward getting La Mejor Taqueria running as efficiently and smoothly as possible.
