Gymnasium Policies
Priority for use of the Gymnasium, or one of the three courts, goes to scheduled events and activities. All events and activities must be scheduled through the Director of Recreation. If an event or activity is in session, please do not disturb participants. Inquire at the Front Desk for the event end time. Weekly schedules are posted outside the Gymnasium.
In addition to the General Facility Policies;
To protect the facility and equipment:
- Hanging from the basketball rims or nets is not permitted.
- Gymnasium use for informal recreation is limited to basketball, volleyball and badminton. Volleyball and basketball are always available and badminton can be set-up as requested.
- Non-marking closed-toe athletic shoes must be worn on the courts.
- Losing team players yield court to those waiting to play and may not participate until all individuals waiting have played.
- Games are played to 11 points, with the winner winning by two.
- Half court games are 3-on-3 and full court games 5-on-5 when individuals are waiting.
- Disagreements are decided by a shot from the top of the key.
Informal Volleyball Guidelines

- Games are played to 15 points, with the winner winning by two.
- Games are 6-on-6 when individuals are waiting.
Did You Know?Court 3 is always set up for volleyball and upon request badminton can be set up. Courts 1 and 2 are typically basketball. Our busiest quarter is the winter quarter when Intramural Sports Basketball is being played, the Men's and Women's Club Sport Volleyball Teams and Boxing are practicing. Check the schedule for the black out times when there are no open courts. This time is limited to no more than two hours each evening. Typically 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. or 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. |
