All Level Flow Yoga
The All Level Flow Yoga class is a fun yet challenging hour long class focusing on linking breath and movement. The class will connect primarily a series of standing poses in a vinyasa flow style. Offering multiple modifications this class is welcoming for beginners as well as those with a stronger practice.
Cardio Athletic Kickboxing
Backed by high energy music, the Cardio Athletic Kickboxing workout incorporates kicks, punches, elbows and knees, and combinations used in martial arts and boxing together with effective athletic drills. Perfect cueing and instruction allow beginners as well as more advanced exercisers to follow the challenging combinations, burn fat, release stress, & have fun!
Cycling Various Numbers
Pedal your way through an indoor cycling class that will sculpt your muscles and generate a serious sweat. The instructor will lead you through a mix of drills, hills, and sprints. Both cycling newcomers and veterans are welcome! You can control the intensity of your workout by increasing or decreasing the resistance on the bike and the instructor will provide other alterations, as needed! Patrons should bring a personal towel and a water bottle to class. Our cycling bikes can accommodate regular workout shoes or cycling shoes. Cycling class number does NOT denote difficulty level. Cycling classes can be adapted for beginners to advanced riders. Cycling 2, 5, 6, and 9 are 45 minute classes vs. 3, 7, and 8 which are all a one hour class. Cycling 1, 4, and 10 were canceled Sunday, March 30 due to an instructor resigning. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused if you were planning on attending those class times.
You are cordially invited to join all or part of SCU's "Hard Core Challenge." The challenge consists of THREE thirty-minute classes with a five-minute break in between, featuring functional and core fitness made fun! All fitness and experience levels are welcome.
Core N More - this class is the" kinder, more gentler" version of Butts N Guts. We will use movements borrowed from the Pilates discpline to lengthen and tone the abdominal, leg, back and gluteal muscles. We will use bands, balls and rollers to add variation to the traditional exercises. This class is appropriate for all levels of fitness.
Then step into the next class, Cardio Sculpt, is a dynamic low-impact workout. Alternate using hand weights and bands with step aerobic routines to maximize toning and calorie burn. It's fun, effective, and challenging.
Last up is Butts and Guts, we will do exercises specifically designed to target your bottom and tummy. For the "butt" work, we will do lunges, squats, butt blasters and leg lifts. We sometimes also incorporate the Body Bar for an even tougher challenge! For your "gut" work, we will crunch, twist, and plank. We also bring out the ball occasionally for more challenging balance and core work.
Gentle Yoga is a slow practice of postures sequenced in an intuitive manner with attention to alignment details, healthy transitions between postures, and the integration of breath and attention. Each class strives to maintain an even ratio of flexibility, strength, and balance postures.
This class is a light hearted approach to a classical yoga practice. We will explore seated, standing and reclining yoga postures with a goal of cultivating safe flexibility, functional strength and balance skills. All levels of practitioners are welcome. Plenty of options and choices will be offered so that all participants can gain a rewarding, relaxing and rejuvenating experience! Come join us!
Kickbox Body Sculpt
Kickbox Body Sculpt is a high-energy work out that blends the cardio power of kickboxing with body sculpting mat exercises. It is a fun, fat torching, muscle sculpting, core centric interval workout, guaranteed to whip you into shape, using a class format that's both enjoyable and challenging. Kickbox Body Sculpt is a beginning and intermediate level class for anyone who wants a fun, 60-minute cardio driven work out.
Challenge the core and more with classic Pilates training plus use of balls, bands, and weights to achieve greater strength, flexibility, and function for the whole body.
Power Yoga Flow
Learn the science of physical and mental rejuvenation through techniques of relaxation, flexibility, toning and balance. With the use of the breath, this class will flow (Vinyasa) through various postures, which will strengthen and tone the body.
Vinyasa Yoga consists of flowing series of yoga postures (asanas), synchronizing the breath with each movement. This class cultivates strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance while dissolving tension. Vinyasa Yoga creates a sense of calm and allows one to feel enlivened and renewed from practice. Zumba is a calorie-torching, high-energy class, that uses Latin-inspired and popular music to dance yourself into fitness. It's exercise in disguise.
