SCUTS White 5 - 19 Stanford Grads WhiteDetails: The highlight of the day for the SCUTS was a team matchup. The SCUTS whites were coached by veteran outside center/wing Michael Cassolato and veteran hooker Matthew Saydah. They triumphed over veteran scrum half JP Goethals and his SCUTS Red team by two points in a hard fought battle.
Rookie Junior Alan Lee had a great day on the pitch, as did law student Dave Erb and freshman Matthew Mokry.

Senior Anders Loven-Holt scored five tries throughout the day to lead the SCUTS. Freshmen Brett Davey, Alex Pascale, Carter Rummage, and Will Lynch earned their first trys of the season. Junior Rookies Alan Lee and Tony Driver and senior rookie Tim Chiong also scored their first trys.

Other Competitors: Stanford, UC Santa Cruz, UC Davis, Cal Poly, LPC, Cal, Chico, ClaremontResults: Santa Clara finished 0-6. However, they brought mainly all freshmen and had a few key injuries throughout the day making the going rough, however, the team played hard and learned a lot. Santa Clara almost upset LPC in a hard fought 11-13 loss.November 7 - 8, 2009Location: Bellomy FieldCompetition: Santa Clara Carmen ClassicCompetitors: Santa Cruz, LPC, Davis, Sonoma, Stanford XY, Cal XY, Cal Poly, ChicoResults: Santa Clara split sides to give everybody experience. Santa Clara X went 0-5 while Santa Clara Y went 1-4. The experience gained in the tournament was invaluable, and Santa Clara looks to be a force to be reckoned with come Winter.
October 24 - 25, 2009Location: Chico State UniversityCompetition: CHUG TournamentCompetitors: Chico XYZ, Santa Cruz XY, Stanford XY, Sonoma, Oregon, Lewis and Clark, RenoResults: Team went 1-7, achieving a victory over Reno.All games were very closely contested. Santa Clara brought 12 rookies to the tournament, and they all played very well as they gained their first tournament experience. The team improved drastically throughout the day. -

Minh Dao had a bold run through which won the game single handedly for SCU Red. EJ Hayes had good and consistent play in an unfamiliar position.
