  • icon2007-2008 Club Sports Award Winners

    On Friday, May 30th, the Club Sports Council and Campus Recreation co-hosted the Second Annual Club Sports Awards BBQ in Alumni Park to honor the 2007-2008 teams.  Congratulations to the following award winning teams and individuals:

    Team GPA Award - Women's Ultimate

    Volunteers of the Year - Women's Rugby

    Club Sports Council Award - Ellen Metzger, WLX

    Officer of the Year - Alex Seber, MULT


    Most Improved Club - Men's Rugby

    Male Athlete of the Year - Mark Swoboda, MLX

    Congratulations to Steven Barbieri and Nick Casini for being named Academic All Americans for the 2008 collegiate club hockey season!

    The WDIA has announced the 2008 Academic All American team and 9 broncos were included.  Congratulations to Jessie Reimer, Krista Shaw, Jamie Staudt, Jen Babaie, Sarah Herscovici, Lucy Kelly, Maggie Spreitzer, Ellen Metzger, and Claire O'Leary!
  • iconWomen's Lacrosse Finishes 7th in Nation

    The Women's Lacrosse team returned from WDIA Nationals in Denver having finished in 7th place. 

    The Broncos won a number of individual awards:  Brendan O'Brien (Co-Coach of the Year), Krista Shaw (Midfielder of the Year and First Team All American, Midfield), Renee Eligio (Rookie of the Year and First Team All American, Goalie), Lindsay Campbell (First Team All-American, Attack), Sarah Herscovici (Second Team All American, Defense).

  • iconMen's Lacrosse Rankings

    Santa Clara has earned the # 22 spot in the latest MCLA Division I pollannounced this week. This marks the first time in the 8 year history of the poll that the Broncos have earned a top 25 spot. The Broncos face #8 Sonoma State this Saturday in the first round of the WCLL Playoffs.
  • iconMeeting Date Change!!

    The Club Sports Council will still meet as scheduled this Sunday, April 20th at 9 pm.  The second meeting for spring quarter will be on Monday, May 19th at 9 pm.  Both meetings will be in the Malley Center Conference Room.  All Team Reps on the CSC must attend.
  • iconPost-Season Update (4/18/08)

    Brief updates on post-season competitions:

    The Men's Rugby team ended their very successful season with a loss in a close match against Utah Valley in Orem, Utah at the Pacific Coast Regional Championships.

    Ian Fletcher and Brandon Dahl from the Boxing team competed in the NCBA National Championships in Reno where both boxers lost in the quarterfinal rounds.

    The Women's Club Volleyball team won their league tournament at UC Davis at the end of March.  Chelsea Reilley was named the league MVP, Brandon Kosai was named the league's Coach of the Year, and five other team members won league honors.  At national, the team qualified for the gold division I bracket where they lost a very close match in the quarterfinals to eventual national champion Marquette.

    The Women's Ultimate team attend the Bay Area Sectionals in Livermore where they placed 6th and received a bid to regionals at Davis April 26-27.

    The Men's Ultimate team also attended the Bay Area Sectionals where they narrowly missed qualifying for regionals.

    The Sailing club returned from regionals in Longbeach where they finished 9th as a team, ending another successful season for the young club.  The final Bell Trophy standings had SCU tied for second place in Northern California.

    The Paintball club is currently in Lakeland, Florida at their national championships!

  • iconSCU Boxing Hosts Regional Boxing Bouts

    The SCU Boxing club is hosting the NCBA Western Regional Championships this Thursday through Saturday at the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center.

    Bouts are scheduled to begin each night at 7pm.  The quarterfinals are Thursday, semifinals are Friday, and the championships are Saturday.

    There are no advance ticket sales for this event.  Admission each day is $5 for adults and $3 for children (suggested donation).

    Participating teams include Santa Clara University, San Jose State University, University of San Francisco, University of Nevada-Reno, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, University of California-Davis, University of California-Berkeley, and Air Force Academy.

  • iconMen's Ice Hockey Awards

    In addition to being named the regular season champion for the North Division of the PCHA and advancing all the way to the semifinals of the overall championship, our Men's Ice Hockey team also picked up some individual awards this past weekend in Bakersfield.  Chris McNamara was named the MVP Defensive Goaltender of the Year for the North Division and Ian Gonnella was named the Offensive MVP for the North Division.

    Congratulations on a tremendously successful first full year as a Club Sport team!!!!

  • iconWomen's Lacrosse Rankings

    The USL WDIA rankings announced on February 27th have our Women's Lacrosse team at #4 in the human poll and #1 in the computer poll.  They head south this weekend for games against USC and UCSB.
  • iconMen's Ice Hockey Playoffs

    In their first full year as a Club Sport, the Men's Ice Hockey team has finished first place in the Pacific Collegiate Hockey Assocation North Division which gives them a #1 seed heading into playoffs this weekend in Bakersfield!

The Club Sports Program is raising money by selling Campus Recreation drawstring bags. The bags are available for purchase at the Malley Center front desk for $15 (1 bag) or $25 (2 bags).
