This January, three Retail Management Institute students were awarded the very first Ray M. Greenly Shop.Org Scholarships.
Roopa Gottimukkala, Kellan McNamara and Denise Bertuccelli joined Professor Kirthi Kalyanam in Atlanta, Georgia for the “First Look 2006” Shop.Org Conference. This conference focused on past, present and future e*retailing trends. Over 150 retailers attended, including Home Depot Direct, Gap Direct, Williams-Sonoma, Google, Amazon and Travelocity.
Multi-Channel retailing is currently the largest area of focus for a retail studies student here at Santa Clara University, and it is growing. With the development of new technologies and a new age consumer, online retailing is constantly changing.
The conference showcased guest speakers, group discussions and interactive user sessions to address the biggest industry issues. Three of the most common trends discussed at the conference were Website usability, cross-channel optimization and direct consumer marketing.
