Krause, William
Bill Krause '75 has published his first book, Federico Moreno Torroba, A Musical Life in Three Acts (Oxford University Press, 2013), with co-author Walter Clark. Since leaving Santa Clara, he earned his M.M. from University of Southern California and Ph.D. from Washington University, St. Louis. DuBois has served as a family law commissioner for the San Mateo County Superior Court since 2002. He was a partner at DuBois and Kelly from 1983 to 2002 and a partner at Nudelman and DuBois from 1980 to 1983. He also was an associate attorney at the Law Offices of George P. Georgi and David have a son, Mateo, who just graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, where he is a legal assistant and currently applying to law school.. Miller, Jeffrey
Jeffrey A. Miller ’73, MBA ’76 has been elected to SCU’s Board of Trustees. Miller has more than 35 years of high-tech experience in semiconductors, hardware, and software companies. Prior to establishing the business-consulting firm JAMM Ventures, Miller was a venture partner with Redpoint Ventures, mentoring CEOs of portfolio companies. He was previously chairman and CEO of Documentum, an enterprise document-management software company that became one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the country under Miller's leadership. He spent the early years of his career at Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel, also holding senior marketing and general management executive positions at Adaptec and Cadence Design Systems. He serves or has served on the boards of Lithium, MarkLogic, McAfee, Accept Corp., Data Domain, Datameer, ServiceNow, Unicru and American Prairie Reserve. He was previously co-managing director of SCU's Center for Science, Technology, and Society.

Kate McDermott '76 is the creator and founder of Art of the Pie. Since 2006 she has taught the time-honored craft of pie making to thousands. One of the most highly sought-after culinary instructors in the United States, Kate is widely acknowledged as one of the best makers of pie ever. Named "Food Rock Star" by Seattle Magazine, Kate has given her Art of the Pie workshop to food luminaries and has received high praise from Ruth Reichl, former editor of Gourmet, Dorie Greenspan, Elise Bauer (Simply Recipes) and many others. Her blackberry pie was featured in Saveur Magazine's Top 100 Issue and appeared on the cover. She has been written about in numerous books, magazines & blogs by award-winning authors.
