Mumtaz Pierre-Davis Winn '98 and husband, Michael, are proud first-time parents of a beautiful baby girl, named Ananda Maryum, born November 22, 2010.
P. J. Vaughn '92, '98 is now living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She works for Chevron as the general manager of the Buenos Aires Shared Services Center.
Damien Swendsen '98 and Lisa (Sacco) Swendsen '98 are thrilled to announce the birth of their fourth child, Emily Anne Swendsen. She joined brothers Michael and Matthew and sister Claire on June 12, 2009. The Swendsens live in San Jose, California.
Gates Matthew Stoner '98 is now Senior Instructional Technologist & Web Platform Manager at The University of Arizona in the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. He continues to adjunct in the Communication Department.
Clark Stone J.D. ’98 joined Hogan Lovells as a partner in the intellectual property practice, based in Silicon Valley. Stone's practice focuses on litigation relating to patents, trademarks, Internet privacy, trade secrets, and business disputes for high technology clients, in federal and state courts and the ITC. He has handled cases involving semiconductor devices, manufacturing processes and equipment, electronic circuitry, global positioning systems, cellular handsets, patent licenses, commercial contracts, online trademark issues, software, electronic mail, and trade secrets misappropriation.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Stone worked in both technical and managerial positions for various semiconductor manufacturing equipment companies, including Applied Materials, Inc., and Novellus Systems, Inc. He has an extensive knowledge of semiconductor devices and manufacturing techniques, plasma etching and deposition, and Internet-related technologies.
A past president of the Santa Clara County Bar Association (2007), Stone has served as a volunteer arbitrator for the Santa Clara County Bar Association's Attorney-Client Fee Dispute Arbitration program since 2002, and also serves as a volunteer arbitrator for the State Bar of California's Mandatory Fee Arbitration program.
Bryan Stofferahn ’98 married Claire Ilog on July 6, 2013, at the Pacific Oaks Vineyard Estate in Santa Cruz, Calif. Mark Brower ’99 performed the ceremony, while Nate Baker ’99 and Rogelio Calderon ’98 served as groomsmen. Also in attendance were Jason Cook ’99, Brad Perkins ’99, Aisha Curran ’99, and Ryan Hoffman ’01. Bryan is a partner at the law firm of Connor & Bishop in San Francisco, and could not be happier right now.
Jolyn Silva M.A. '98 is the owner and operator of Heaven On Earth: Skin Care & Massage. She has two locations: San Jose and Mountain View. They perform therapeutic massages, pampering facials, and meticulous waxing. www.heaven-on-earth.net
Robert P. Rutila J.D. '98 has returned to Ridenour, Hienton & Lewis in Phoenix, Ariz. He practices commercial litigation and is focused on construction law, landlord/tenant disputes, creditors rights, real estate, banking and general-contract issues.
Kathleen Rubin '98 has recently directed a one man show, written and performed by Aaron Braxton, called "Did You Do Your Homework?" It has been playing at the Beverly Hills Playhouse in Los Angeles since January and continues to run due to overwhelming success. The show chronicles Mr. Braxton's experience as a substitute teacher in an urban school in Los Angeles. The theme is timely and relevant as Mr. Braxton states, "Education is an equalizer and a conditioned mind will defeat an angry heart."
Sarah (Lentz) Rodriguez '98 and husband Sergio had their first child, son Tanner Dashiell, on March 12, 2010. The family lives in Fullerton, Calif.
Bubba and Amy Randazzo '98 welcomed the birth of their second child in February. Sofia Marie Randazzo was 6 lbs 9 oz and was 19 inches long. Sofie's big brother Jake loves taking care of his "sissy girl."
Maureen Bermingham Postigo '98 and husband Javier joyfully welcomed their daughter, Francesca Elizabeth, into the world on June 8, 2011. They continue to marvel at her amazing growth and development. The family resides in Walnut Creek.
Rachel (Palmer) ’98 and David Plut ’97 welcomed their third baby girl, Charlotte Sunshine, on August 20. The family lives in Spokane, Wash.
Lloyd Pierce '98 is now a player development coach for the Memphis Grizzlies. Mr. Pierce, with more than 15 years of collegiate and professional basketball experience, joins the Grizzlies’ organization for a third NBA coaching job after a year (2010-11) with the Golden State Warriors, where he served as an assistant coach under head coach Keith Smart. Prior to his stint with the Warriors, he worked for the Cleveland Cavaliers as a player development coordinator for three seasons (2007-10). The San Jose, Calif., native attended SCU (1994-98) where he helped lead the Broncos to two NCAA Tournament berths. After graduating with a degree in business management, he played four seasons internationally, making stops in Mexico, Australia, and Germany before returning to SCU, where he joined the team’s staff as an assistant coach under head coach Dick Davey (2003-07).
Lloyd Pierce ’98 has been hired by 76ers coach Brett Brown as assistant coach. Pierce had previous stints with the Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State Warriors, and Cleveland Cavaliers. The San Jose native played for Santa Clara University from 1994-98 and played professionally in Mexico, Australia and Germany before returning to Santa Clara to join then-coach Dick Davey's staff.
Christine (Guerrero) Parvin '98 and her husband Darin announce the birth of their son, Dylan Edward-Oscar, on July 30, 2008. Their growing family moved to Sacramento shortly after Dylan's birth and are happy to be settled in.

On July 7, 2012, Steve O'Brien '98 wed Julianne (Visbal) O'Brien '04 in the Santa Clara Mission Church with over 40 fellow Broncos in attendance. It was truly a great day to be a Bronco! Today, the couple resides in Annapolis, MD, where Julianne works as a civil engineer with Bay Engineering, and Steve serves as the Naval Academy Athletic Association's Associate Athletic Director-Development at the United States Naval Academy. The O'Briens enjoy regularly returning to the Mission Campus for a variety of SCU events and are looking forward to making their next trip back this October for Steve's 15-year reunion.

Tina (Hughes) Nelson '86, M.A. '98 and Thomas—the adoption of their daughter, Antonia (Toni) Rose Nelson, on May 18, 2011. The family resides in Willow Glen/San Jose, Calif. Tina is currently the school library coordinator with the San Mateo County Office of Education while Tom is a senior system engineer with Lockheed Martin.
Meredith McKenzie J.D. ’98 was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown ’59 to the Dental Board of California. McKenzie has been vice president and deputy general counsel at Juniper Networks since 2012. She was senior director of intellectual property at Symantec Corporation from 2006 to 2012, director of litigation, licensing and IP for Cypress Semiconductor from 2001 to 2006 and corporate counsel and director of IP at Enuvis Inc. from 2000 to 2001. McKenzie was an associate for Howrey LLP from 1998 to 2000 and patent agent and design engineer at Intel Corporation from 1993 to 1998.
Mary (Kerans) McCafferty '98 and husband Tom were blessed with identical twin boys, Andrew Peter and Ian David, on Feb. 5, 2011. The boys have a 3-year-old big sister, Abigail Quinn.
Ryan Martin-Spencer '98 and his wife Laura welcomed into the world their third child, Emma Grace Martin-Spencer, on September 8, 2011. Kyra, 7, and Joshua, 5, are very excited to have a new little sister!
