Jeffrey Adams ’10 is appearing in the new play Animals, presented by Wide Eyed Productions, which follows a group of “twenty-somethings” kicking around their suburban hometown. The play is running as part of the FringeNYC Festival 2012 at the Kraine Theatre in New York City in August. Adams is also working on his MFA at the New School for Drama.

Mikell Warms '11 is currently a graduate teaching assistant at Colorado State University. 

Mark Vetto '11 is currently serving with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Syracuse, N.Y., with Catholic Charities of Onondaga County - Emergency Services.

Mark Vetto ’11 is in his second year as a Jesuit Volunteer with Mental Health Advocacy Project, in San Jose, Calif. Based in four core values—social justice, simple living, community, and spirituality—Jesuit Volunteer Corps offers women and men an opportunity to work full-time for justice and peace. JVs serve the poor directly, working for structural change in the United States and in developing countries.

Corina Morales '05 married Jeff Tunison '04 at the Santa Clara Mission on July 30, 2011. Lauren Elizabeth Totah '11 serves in New Oreleans, Louisana with The Good Sheperd of Nativity Mission School through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. The school supports students from underprivileged backgrounds with family incomes below the poverty line with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty through education. Donations and grants enable the school to cover the cost of tuition. Totah is teacher's assistant for the kindergarten classroom and a religious studies teacher for k-3 grades. She is the daughter of Paul Totah '79.

Hilary Titus '11 serves with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps at Sacred Heart Nativity School in San Jose. 

Lauren Simas '11 serves with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest in Yakima, Wash. She works as a legal assistant at Northwest Justice Project. Simas helps lawyers in the office with their cases by gathering relevant documents and communicating to the clients about what is going on. Along withe building cases, she is engaged in client advocacy; currently she is helping elderly, low-income clients move from a dangerous living situation. Another important part of her job is migrant farm worker outreach. During the harvest season she travels all around the state of Washington visiting labor camps and handing out information to agricultural workers about their rights.

Kumar Sathyanarayana Raju M.S. ’11 writes: “Blessed with a little angel on Dec. 16, 2011. Having an amaaaazing time with her. The new life in our family has also brought some new ideas for development in mobile platform. I am currently designing it with one of my friends and looking for Mobile App Dev experts. Thank SCU for all the great moments while I was at and away from campus. Go Broncos!”

Robert J. Rosser '11 spent last summer in Tanzania, Africa, teaching at the Rift Valley Children's Orphanage. He has recently moved to New York City and is working as a sales associate for Green Mountain Energy Company, aiming to convert all of Manhattan's small businesses to clean, renewable wind power.

Matt Renner ’11 and Matt Green ’15 have been appointed as application engineers by Future Facilities North America leading provider of data center design and operational management software. Future Facilities NA has relocated its headquarters to 2055 Gateway Place, San Jose, to meet the needs of its expanding staff and customer base throughout the United States and Canada.

“Over the last year, Future Facilities has experienced explosive growth from customers looking to get accurate visibility into their data centers,” said Sherman Ikemoto, General Manager, Future Facilities NA. “We’re delighted to bring on board Mr. Green and Mr. Renner – accomplished thermal engineers who will help us ensure that our clients’ data centers operate at peak efficiency.”

Last month, Future Facilities announced its participation in Facebook’s Open Compute Project, whose mission is to form an open IT hardware and data center design community. By open-sourcing its 6SigmaViewer, Future Facilities will enable adoption of streamlined communication between suppliers and end-users and encourage innovation from IT hardware and data center manufacturers. In effect, 6SigmaOpenViewer is positioned to become a common language for the Open Compute community that will help to overcome the barriers to communication traditionally found in the data center industry.

Fulgence Ratsimbazafy, S.J., STD ’11 writes: “Greetings from Madagascar. I will be in charge of the School of Social Communication and Journalism (a four-year program after high school that delivers a master’s degree and has about 300 hundred students) until the director returns from tertianship. Then I will return to my field of theology. From January 2012 after the Provincial Congregation, I will be the delegate for formation of the Province. I wish you all the best and blessings.”

Justin Porter MBA ’11 has been elected to the board of director's for COMMON, the world's largest group of IBM and IBM-compatible information technology users. Porter is the director of technology for Westside Produce in Firebaugh, Calif.

Matthew Oehler ’11 writes: “It has been more of a struggle than I hoped. The zero job offers, the low pay, and the struggle of my family seem to be the only new news. But life has been the adventure. Finding ways to make the payments, support my family, and still have fun have made postgraduation interesting. The struggles have really honed my budgeting skills, and my decision skills. I feel more capable than ever that I am a qualified business person, that I could survive in any field. With the economy supposedly turning around, I have hope that not only my life, but my families lives, will be beneficial in the future.”

Christopher Noller '11 writes: "My daughter, Hazel Anne Noller just turned 3 and she loves her new balllet dance classes at the YMCA."

Chris Max '11 was featured in the article “U.S. Students Investing in Their Future,” at ChinaDaily.com. The article discusses how American students are looking to China to boost hiring credentials.

The story reports that the 22-year-old business major flew to China to learn the language with the hope of increasing his prospects for employers. For the past two and a half months, Max has studied Mandarin at the Hutong language school in Beijing.

"China is huge right now," Max says in the article. "Having a business background and being able to speak Mandarin will be a big selling point to employers."

Katie Kurtz '11 is currently serving in Yakima, Wash., at Yakima Neighborhood Health as an outreach worker through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest.

Trinity Klein M.A. '12, a Palo Alto High School English teacher, has been chosen as a new assistant principal for Gunn High School in the the Palo Alto Unified School District. Klein will replace Wesley Cedros, who left his position at Gunn to accept an administrative position in the Tamalpais Union High School District. Klein has taught at Palo Alto High School for 14 years. She began her career as an English teacher and served as the instructional supervisor of Paly's English department for six years. Last year she served in a leadership role as a teacher on special assignment, according to a district announcement. She attended the University of Massachusetts and holds a bachelor's degree in comparative literature. She holds a single-subject teaching credential from San Francisco State University and master's in education and has a pending administrative-services credential from Santa Clara University.

Kevin Klasila '11, a goalkeeper, was signed by the Charleston Battery for the upcoming United Soccer Leagues pro season.
