Garrett Wade '96 and his wife Lisa welcomed their second daughter, Madison Riley Wade, into the world June 4, 2012.
Alison Tanigawa ’96 was named advertising and media director for Island Insurance Company in Hawaii. Tanigawa, who has nearly 15 years of experience, will be responsible for managing the company’s advertising and media activities. Prior she was the marketing manager for DTRIC insurance.
Erin (McCarthy) Reasoner ’96 completed Ironman Arizona on November 18, 2012. It took her 13 hours, 58 minutes to finish the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run. Fellow Bronco Karen (McCormick) Ekizian ’96 was part of the amazing cheering crew. Erin has completed two half Ironman distance triathlons; this was her first full distance. Erin and husband Scott have three girls: Olivia, 8, Bridget, 5 and Audrey, 2. The family lives in Mission Viejo, Calif.
Rick Loayza '96 and Cristina Loayza welcomed a child, Derek Joshua Loayza, on Nov. 18, 2011. He joins brother Jacob (7) and sister Alexis (5). The family lives in Nashville, Tenn.
Jason Kelperis '96, a math teacher at St. Helena High, who has been teaching for the St. Helena Unified School District since 2001, was profiled in the Napa Valley Register on his teaching style and how he measures success. Kelperis and his wife have four sons, ages 3, 5, 8 and 11.
Lauren Gallagher '96 and husband Don Reierson welcomed their second child, Fiona Jane Reierson, June 28, 2012. She joins their 2-year-old daughter Adelyn Mae. The family lives in Los Gatos, Calif. Lauren is controller at Humane Society Silicon Valley.
Michael Cole '96 and wife Teresa welcomed their son, Cameron, on Nov. 3, 2011. Cameron joins his sister Sienna, age 4. They live in San Diego.
Dennis Chiu J.D. ’96, an attorney and community leader in Santa Clara County, is a candidate for the El Camino Hospital District Board. He is running on a reform platform that emphasizes transparency after the purchase of the Los Gatos hospital, a critical grand jury report in 2011, and a LAFCo service review and audit that raised concerns. Shauna L. Chastain ’91, J.D. ’96 is President of the Solano County Bar Association, and Bay Area Chapter Director of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists.
Mike Betz '96 and Alisa (Harmon) Betz '97 are pleased to announce the birth of their third (and final) future Bronco, Charles Donald Betz on Oct. 14, 2012. Charlie joins his siblings Alice and Henry and has the distinct privilege of being the proud owner of numerous articles of hand-me-down SCU gear! Here's to hoping they all get in to SCU!
