Sharon Shelton ’03 wed David Feigelson on November 9, 2013 on a yacht in Newport Beach, Calif. Sharon and David met at Santa Clara while David was visiting his groomsmen Matt Krueger ’03. Other Broncos in the wedding party:Merrin Thompson 02'Chrissy Towle (Hirsch) 03' and Cindy Hirsch ’03. Other Broncos in attendance were Amy Hoefer (Grabill) ’03Ynez Carrasco ’02Jamie Jameson (Swintek) ’02Miranda McAnany ’02Kasey De La Cruz (Shemwell) ’03Christina Vick ’05Jessie Mechem ’04, and Kim Gaube (Helton) ’03. Sharon and David reside in Redwood City, CA where Sharon works as a VP for Comerica in San Jose, providing financing for start-up/pre-profit companies. David works for Genentech as a Global Project Manager.

Shahbazian, Pouya

Pouya Shahbazian J.D. ’03 was profiled in The Hollywood Reporter. He is a manager-producer at New Leaf Literary & Media, a management/production business that includes the hotly anticipated film Divergent, based on a YA novel Shahbazian discovered and placed at Summit. (He has a producer credit). Among his other high-profile sales: Patrick Lee's Runner to Warner Bros. with Justin Lin directing, and Leigh Bardugo's Shadow and Boneto DreamWorks.

The London-born book-to-film manager, whose wife is pregnant with their second child, also is doing some writing of his own. He's co-authoring a YA novel titled Scan, which is set for May release, and then will follow up in 2015 with a sequel, Burn.

Rajagopal, Ananda
Ananda Rajagopal MBA '03 has joined Gigamon as vice president of Product Management, bringing more than 20 years of global software, hardware and engineering leadership. Ananda joins Gigamon from Brocade, where he was most recently VP Routing, Product Management & Strategy for their Data Center Switching and Routing business.
 
Gigamon is a leader in traffic visibility solutions with the innovative Unified Visibility Fabric.
 
Rajagopal holds an MBA in Technology Management from Santa Clara University, as well as a Masters of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT in Kanpur, India. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Mysore in India. Previously, he held positions on the Internet2 Research Advisory Board, Metro Ethernet Forum, and DSL Forum, as well as serving as a voting member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Legarreta, Miguel

Miguel Legarreta ’03 joins Truex Insurance in Stockton after a successful career at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he was recognized for his outstanding performance by the Liberty Mutual Leader’s Club. Legarreta speaks Spanish fluently, has seven years of experience, and brings a vast knowledge of personal insurance to Truex.

In 2011, Legarreta earned his Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow designation. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 2003 with a degree in economics and a minor in Spanish studies.

James Goodnow ’03 and Erin Ryan Goodnow ’03 welcomed their second child, Brody Ryan Goodnow, on Dec. 30, 2013. Big sister, Kelly Claire, welcomed him home as well. The family lives in Phoenix.

Davies, Matthew

Matthew Davies MBA ’03 was recently profiled on the politics page of the Sacramento Bee for his controversial involvement in becoming a medical marijuana entrepeneur in California. After other ventures—launching an online jewelry importing company, starting a property management firm, and then opening an upscale French restaurant—Davies, 35, of Stockton, began building a $10 million Central Valley medical marijuana enterprise in barely two years, starting in 2009. Carnes, Matthew

Matthew E. Carnes M.Div. '03 has been elected to Santa Clara University’s Board of Trustees, bringing to 44 the number of members of the governing body that helps steer its strategies and priorities.

A native of San Carlos, Calif., Carnes has been assistant professor of government at Georgetown since 2009 and is the recipient of several awards for outstanding teaching and faculty excellence. He spent a year as a fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution and a semester as a fellow at the University of Notre Dame’s Kellogg Institute for International Studies. He received his Ph.D. in political science from Stanford, where he also received his B.A. in international relations. He holds a M.Div. degree from the Jesuit School of Theology and an M.A. in philosophical resources from Fordham University.

A Jesuit priest since 2003, he was a Jesuit scholar-in-residence at Unity residential learning community at SCU from 2004 to 2008 and from 2011 to 2012. During that time, he periodically served as coordinator for student immersions in Tijuana, Mexico.
 
“I have a great fondness for Santa Clara University and the time I’ve spent here,” said Carnes. “The University is a remarkable community of open, intellectual debate that keeps justice for the world’s poorest and most needy at the forefront in all its endeavors. It will be a privilege to contribute to Santa Clara’s work and foster its growth.”
