SCU religious studies and pastoral ministries professor Paul Crowley, S.J., STL '92 has been appointed editor of the journal Theological Studies by its board of directors.
Simon Chiu ’92 was named president of Saint Francis High School, in Mountain View.
David Wiesner ’89, MBA ’93 has joined Edgewood Partners Insurance Center as managing principle and regional director in its Employee Benefits Consulting Division. EPIC is a retail property, casualty insurance brokerage and employee benefits consultant. Wiesner brings 25 years of experience in strategic market planning, sales organizational leadership, new product/service development and health and welfare plan consulting to the firm.
As regional director, Wiesner will focus on growing EPIC's employee benefits consulting business in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, recruiting and adding producer/consultants and specialty service teams, and fully integrating EPIC's national Employee Services Platform into local client offerings. Wiesner will be based in San Francisco and will report locally to John Connell , EPIC's President, Employee Benefits of California.
Chris Turner ’93 currently oversees Discovery Communications' original internet networks and lives in San Francisco. He and wife Lisa welcomed a baby girl, Thea Lucia Turner, on June 15, 2014. She joins brother Casey (2).

Michael R. Johnson ’92, M.S. ’93 is completing his fourth year as Middle School Principal at Escuela Campo Alegre, an international school in Caracas, Venezuela. Recently he was appointed to the Middle School Principal position at the Anglo-American School of Moscow for the 2014-2015 school year. He will move to Moscow this summer with his wife, Christina, daughter Danielle (14), and son Derek (11).
Jim Hornecker ’93 and his wife Andrea welcomed their seventh child, Luke Sebastian Hornecker, on March 28, 2014. They live in Chaska, Minn.
Michael Villamor ’94 was married to Kathy Pieper on Dec. 28, 2013 in Sacramento, Calif. The couple live in Lake Forest, Calif.
Maj. Marcelino "Butch" Soriano ’89, MBA ’94, broke the record for number of hours of straight bell-ringing for the Salvation Army in Southern California, ringing the bell for 150 hours. In the end, he raised almost $10K. He set his record at 150 hours in celebration of the Salvation Army’s 150 years in existence and its 124th annual Red Kettle Campaign, during which bell-ringers seek donations outside stores throughout the holiday season.
Austiaj Parineh ’00 and Patrick K. O'Brien ’94 (son of Catherine Kilkenny ’67 and Patrick J. O'Brien ’67, as well as grandson of Jeremiah O'Brien ’30), on October 13, 2013 on San Juan Island, Wash. Austiaj and Patrick met an SCU Alumni event in San Francisco. The couple lives in San Francisco. Patrick works in business development for Fremont Bank.
Steven B. McLaughlin ’94 writes that he was selected for a promotion to colonel. In July, he will be graduating from the U.S. Army War College with a master's in strategic studies.
Cecilia (Allen) Martin ’94, MBA ’99 and husband, Dave, live in Santa Clara with their 2 children, ages 7 and 10.
After serving as a intern during law school, John Kennedy J.D. ’94 has continued to work in the San Francisco City Attorney's Office for the past 20 years. The office provides legal services to all City departments and agencies as well as elected and appointed officials, and his practice reflects the public policy and political issues facing the City including public transportation, the growth of technology apps, and same-sex marriage/Proposition 8 litigation. John has served on several LGBT non-profit Boards of Directors including the San Francisco LGBT Community Center, LYRIC, and Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom. Since he will be marrying his long time partner - Scott Shafer - Labor Day weekend, John regrets that he'll be missing the reunion due to their planned honeymoon in Portugal and Spain but sends his regards to his fellow classmates. His interests include travel, water polo, and food.
Rosanna Guadagno Loewald ’94 and her husband, Tonio Loewald, welcomed twin girls, Romilly Jane and Jaelle Marie in March 2008. Rosanna and her family are moving to Dallas, Texas, where Rosanna has accepted a tenured position as an associate professor of Emerging Media and Communication and an associate professor of Psychology at the University of Texas, Dallas.
Thomas Gemetti '94 was elected for another term on the Campbell Union School District board. Gemetti's a Brocade Communications VP and Controller. He's worked for Ernst & Young, Ariba, and SAP and is active in Junior Achievement.
Adriana Cimetta ’94 is an Educational Psychologist conducting research at the University of Arizona. She and husband Michael Stevens, an OBGYN, welcomed a baby girl, Sawyer Cimetta Stevens, on Jan. 28, 2014. The family lives in Tucson, Ariz.

Timothy Bidwill ’94 and Kristy Bidwill welcomed their first child, Morgan Andrew Bidwill, on Aug. 26, 2014.
Cristina (Morais) Souza ’95 and husband welcomed their second daughter, Sophia Amelia, on Jan. 23, 2014. She joins older sister Isabella Natalia, 3. The family lives in Tracy, California.
Jeremy Shelley ’95 is in his 21st season with the San Francisco Giant’s baseball operations department, currently serving as the club’s vice president of Pro Scouting and Player Evaluation, a position he was promoted to in 2013. In his current role, Shelley oversees the organization’s major league and minor league scouting operations and manages the flow of information between the scouts and baseball operations staff. Additionally, he assists in the areas of statistical analysis, contracts, arbitration preparation, as well as amateur and international scouting. He also oversees the information systems within the scouting department.
