Katie (D'Amico) Irvine '99 and her husband, Michael, welcomed their first child, Lucy Laura Irvine, on Oct. 15, 2008. The happy family resides in San Carlos.
James (Jamie) Holmes '99 married Laura Severson on Aug. 28 in Orland Park, IL.
Justin Hintzen '99 is serving as a Foreign Service Officer with the United States Department of State. He will serve his first diplomatic posting in Istanbul, Turkey after he completes Turkish language at the U.S. Foreign Service Institute in Arlington, Virginia, and will be joined by his wife, Emily and newborn, Maggie.
Mike Hammel '99 and Abby (Fake) Hammel '99 welcomed their first child, daughter Ainsley Drew, on February 10, 2009.
Jennifer (Ackman) Hakes '99 and husband Christopher '98 welcomed their second child, Declan Vaughn, on May 4, 2009. Declan joins big sister Annika and the family lives in Sunnyvale.
Aimee Hagedorn '99 writes: "My husband Travis Hagedorn and I recently moved from Philadelphia to Kansas City, KS. After completing his residency at the University of Pennsylvania, he is now serving as a clinical veterinarian for the University of Kansas Medical Center. I am a mentor at Cristo Rey Kansas City high school, which is a Catholic, college prep school that incorporates an innovative work study program for students with economic need."
Gianna I. Franzia '99, along with her husband Michael A. Gambatese and daughter Giada, have joyfully added to their chaos with the arrival of a baby boy, Lucca Franzia Gambatese, on January 7, 2010. The family resides in Chicago and is thrilled with their newest addition!

Marwa Elzankaly J.D. ’99, a partner at leading Northern California trial law firm McManis Faulkner, was honored as one of the most influential women by the Silicon Valley by the Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal’s fifth annual "Women of Influence" awards program.
Women of Influence honorees are nominated by their peers and chosen by a panel of previous Women of Influence recipients. Selection is based on success within their industries and contributions to their communities.
In her practice, Elzankaly represents individuals and corporate clients in general civil and commercial disputes, such as antitrust, trademark, copyright, breach of contract, trade secrets, unfair competition, malicious prosecution and employment issues.
Elzankaly, who is of Egyptian descent and speaks Arabic fluently, gained a critical victory in overturning an unmerited "No-Fly List" designation for a Stanford post-doctoral fellow from Indonesia. Elzankaly's argument, broadcast on C-SPAN, ultimately resulted in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals' agreement to allow federal trial judges to adjudicate the makeup of the No-Fly List. For her work in this case, Elzankaly was named a California Lawyer of the Year.
An active fixture in the legal community, Elzankaly is a member of the Standing Committee on Professional Conduct for the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. She also serves on the Law United Cabinet for United Way and acts as an attorney advisor with Muslim Advocates, a national organization of Muslim lawyers. In addition, Elzankaly has participated on the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Networks Group and served as president of the Bay Area Association of Muslim Lawyers, during which time she received the California State Bar President's Pro Bono Services Award. She has also served as a lecturer on various legal subjects for the University of California, Berkeley and the California State Bar.
Nicole Fourie Dunbar '99 and husband Brian Dunbar are happy to announce the birth of their second daughter, Katelyn Claire. Katelyn was born on May 4, 2009 and weighed 7 lbs 12.9 oz and was 20.5" long. She joins her big sister Megan, 2. Nicole and Brian both work at the San Jose Water Company and reside in San Jose.
Liz (Hammonds) DeBord '99 and husband Sam DeBord welcomed a baby boy, Rex William DeBord, on April 21. He joins big sister Anna at home in Seattle, Wash.
Murphy (Dunn) Curtis '99 is excited to announce the birth of Jason Curtis this past September! Everyone is happy and healthy.
Kelly Crowley ’99 won two bronze medals in cycling at the London Paralympics. Crowley, who was born without an elbow and three fingers on her right arm, won two gold medals in swimming at the Athens Paralympics in 2004 before focusing on cycling for the past six years.
Kenneth Chung M.S. '99 and wife, Triffany, and I welcomed our first born, Audrey, in Dec 2010.
John Carleton '99 works in the Information Services department at University of Portland. He and wife Sheelagh welcomed a baby boy, David Daniel, on March 18, 2011. David is their second son and fourth child. The family lives in Portland, Ore.

Steve Braccini '99, J.D. '03 and his wife, Teresa, welcomed their first child into the world on March 20, 2012, a son—Angelo Antonio Braccini. The family resides in the Willow Glen area of San Jose. Steve is a trust and estate litigator with Hopkins & Carley, APLC in the firm's San Jose and Palo Alto offices.

Renu Bhatia MBA ’99 was named one of Silicon Valley Business Journal’s “100 Women of Influence.” As VP of Sales and Business Development, Marvell Semiconductor Inc., Bhatia is responsible for developing the company’s data communications sales strategy. Bhatia is board director of the San Jose Children’s Discovery Museum; active member of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce, the Anita Borg Institute for Women in Technology and The Indus Entrepreneurs. She teaches at local temple and was selected to guide and develop Stanford University’s international student graduate program. Bhatia appeared as a panelist at the 2011 WIE Symposium, speaking on philanthropy, social enterprise and corporate social responsibility. She was awarded the YWCA Tribute to Women in Industry in 2011.
Josh Bennett '99, J.D. '05 and Cate (Cassin) Bennett '99 welcomed their second child, Brooke Isabel, on Aug. 21, 2008.
Jennifer (Culter) Baumgartner '99 and her husband , Marc Baumgartner, gave birth to a baby boy, Luke Charles, 8 lbs, 14 oz, 20 inches, on Oct. 21, 2008.
Wendy (Nice) and Beau Barnes '99 welcomed a baby boy, Brayden Gordon, on September 23, 2009. The family lives in Campbell.
Irene Ho '99 and Derek Baltazar '99 were married in Seattle, Washington on August 21, 2010. The bridal party included Melanie (Vila) McCaffrey '99, Renegell Delos Santos '99, Phan Chao '99. Other Broncos in attendance were Patrick Wong '99, Susan (Lin) Eng '99, Yvette Yambao-Wacher '99, Camille (Cuento) Flemate '99, Aaron Flemate J.D. '11, John Mendoza '99, Linh Nguyen '99, Tony Lin '00, Stephen Gee '00, David Salim '98, Mary Miller '99, Shirley Manan '99, Loan Dinh '00, Lindsay (Lee) Mune '99, and Olivia Leung MBA '10. Derek is a Systems Engineer and also a current MBA student at SCU. Irene is a PA working in the East Bay. The couple resides in the SF Bay Area.
