Mary Cochran Wolk '76 writes: "After leaving SCU I ventured south to UCLA for my masters in public health and an M.D. degree. I moved to Tucson for what was supposed to be a three year residency program and ended up staying. Tucson has been my home since 1981 and I have been busy practicing pediatrics ever since my arrival. I am caring for second generation children now, as the parents of some of my current patients were my patients years ago. Pediatric oncology and pediatric hospice work were a large part of my life for awhile but I am now concentrating on general peds and trying to slow down a bit (unsuccessful to date!). When not working or volunteering in the community my husband and I like to hike, cycle, kayak (tough to do in the desert!), swim and travel."

I love being back here, contributing to a university community that was so important in my own growth. I can't imagine living a more rewarding life, as I'm inviting into the lives of our students as they develop their minds, open their hearts and form themselves for the rest of their lives. It's a privilege to lead them in prayer, to speak with them about life questions and faith issues, to enjoy happy times and share challenging moments with them.
