Reynolds, Katherine

The Western New York Flash has signed Katherine Reynolds ’10 to its National Women’s Soccer League roster. Reynolds most recently played for the German club SC Freiburg.

Reynolds returns to the Flash after being a key member of the 2012 Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) Elite Championship team. Last season, in the WPSL Elite Championship game, the defender netted a key goal in the penalty shootout. That goal helped lead the Flash to their third-consecutive championship, following wins in the W-League and Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS).

The former Bronco was named to the M.A.C Hermann Trophy watch list and started in all 22 games in her senior year. In her junior year she was acknowledged as Team Tri-Captain and earned All-WCC Second Team honors. In 2009, Reynolds received NSCAA All-West Region Second Team recognition and was named to both the WCC Preseason All-Conference Team and the All-WCC Academic Team.

Katherine was a member of the U.S. U23 Women’s National Team beginning in 2007. After playing three years with the Seattle Sounders Women in the W-League, where she made 18 appearances and scored three goals, she entered the WPS. The Washington native was a fourth round selection in the 2010 WPS Draft, taken with the Boston Breaker’s fifth pick. That same year, Katherine joined the Philadelphia Independence before playing for the Atlanta Beat in 2011.
