Aleksandar Zecevic

Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering

Santa Clara University--Department of Electrical Engineering

Aleksandar Zecevic received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia, in 1984. That year he won the Award of the University of Belgrade for student research. He received his M.S. and Ph. D. degrees from Santa Clara University, in 1990 and 1993, respectively, and in 1990 he became a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the National Jesuit Honor Society.

Since 1994, Zecevic has been teaching courses in the area of circuits and systems in the Department of Electrical Engineering, where he currently holds the rank of Associate Professor. His early research at Santa Clara University was devoted to the decomposition and parallel computation of very large scale systems. During that time, he developed algorithms for the solution of linear equations with as many as one million variables. In recent years, his research has focused on the simulation and control of electric power systems. This work has received continuous funding from the National Science Foundation since 1996.

Over the past eight years, Zecevic has published more than 20 papers in leading professional journals. These include IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and the SIAM Journal of Matrix Analysis and Applications. He has presented papers at numerous technical conferences, and is a regular reviewer for several journals in the area of circuits and systems.
