Richard M. SadaiAdvisory Board Member, Principal, International Business Connect (IBC)Mr. Sadai is currently Principal of International Business Connect (IBC, LLC), a firm that delivers strategic and business advisory services to companies worldwide in the telecommunications industry. IBC handles M & A transactions, corporate restructurings, and capital infusions for small and medium sized companies. IBC supports clients in their strategic development, marketing, sales, and new market penetration. IBC helps its clients realize substantial growth in sales and fully engages in the implementation of assigned projects.
Prior to establishing IBC, Mr. Sadai was Senior Vice President, Global Business Development, at Lynx Photonic Networks, a developer of patented planar waveguide photonic switches and sub-systems. From 1994 to 2000, Mr. Sadai was with Lucent Technologies (including a brief period with AT&T preceding the Lucent spin off). At Lucent, he was Vice President, Business Development, in the InterNetworking Systems Group. His principal responsibilities included the development and execution of alliances, joint ventures, and other third party relationships, as well as the identification of new markets for the group’s products. Mr. Sadai led Lucent’s efforts in Silicon Valley to find new opportunities in the unfolding convergence of telephony and data. His other positions at Lucent were in its Global Service Provider and Consumer Products Groups. Responsibilities covered business development, sales, marketing, and investment in other communications companies. He worked closely with the venture capital and investment banking communities. Prior to joining AT&T, Mr. Sadai was with AlliedSignal (currently Honeywell International) for 18 years. He held a number of key positions, including International Counsel and Vice President of International Business Development. He was a Board member of AlliedSignal’s German subsidiary, Jurid Werke, for more than 13 years. Before joining AlliedSignal, he practiced corporate law with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York City.
Mr. Sadai is a member of the Santa Clara University Board of Advisors for its Center for Science, Technology and Society. He also serves on the IT-Digital Divide Committee of the Think Tank on Glocalization for the Glocal Forum in Rome, Italy. In addition, Mr. Sadai is Honorary Chairman of New Jersey for the US Business Advisory Council, Washington DC.
Mr. Sadai graduated from Hamilton College with a bachelor’s degree in German literature. As part of his studies, he spent a year at the University of Munich in Germany. He holds a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania. |
