About Us - Corporate Partnership

Center for Science, Technology and Society

Corporate Partnership

Corporate partnership formally connects leading corporations to the Center for Science, Technology, and Society. Corporations join to engage in a dynamic, cross-boundary examination of the implications of the unparalleled rate of scientific and technological change on our world today and in the future. By bringing together the business and academic sectors, the Center enriches the dialogue with lessons learned from proven practice and research-based knowledge. Acting alone, neither business leader nor academic expert is likely to penetrate the universe of possibilities and perils of technology. However through in depth collaboration across sectors, the Center exponentially increases the potential for new ways of thinking, problem solving, and anticipating outcomes. Each Corporate Partner assigns a senior executive or scientist to lead the engagement with the Center. These thought leaders are distinguished by an abiding interest in pursuing global corporate responsibility along with critical market growth issues.

As an integral part of Santa Clara University, the mission of the Center for Science, Technology, and Society (STS) is to study and promote science and technology for the common good. This mission reflects the University’s heritage, educating leaders of competence, conscience and compassion and working to create a more just, humane world. STS, as a Center of Distinction on campus, regularly attracts visitors from around the world interested in the social impact of science and technology.

As a non-profit organization, the Center relies on individuals, foundations, and corporate affiliates to sustain its operations and programs.  We are currently launching an enhanced Corporate Partnership program, designed to attract annual contributions from companies of various sizes and with differing institutional goals and initiatives.
