CHANGE THAT COUNTS – METRICS FOR SUSTAINABLE SOCIAL BUSINESS addresses opportunities and challenges associated with the particular needs of social benefit entrepreneurs to measure and account for the ways in which they engage unique business practices that foster the emergence of a more just and humane world. Discussions will focus on methodologies for indicating and measuring social and environmental impacts as well as the financial dimensions of social businesses. The Conference will also showcase the social business innovations of the 2009 Tech Award Laureates, who will present details of their work in moderated panels. Members of the Silicon Valley community and beyond are invited to join in conversation with the 2009 Tech Awards Laureates, sustainability thought leaders, and social benefit foundations, to take action at multiple levels in a format that encourages a free flow of ideas and values. The Conference affords the convergence of a variety of investment communities, commercial and academic practitioners, government officials, and philanthropists to form a networked force for sustainable social business.
