World BankThe Center for Science, Technology, and Society has initiated a partnership with the World Bank Institute (WBI) for overall collaboration on activities relating to the use of information and communication technologies to address the United Nations' Millennium Goals. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Center, WBI and The Tech Museum of Innovation provides a framework for collaboration, the nature of which is under development. The World Bank Group's mission it to fight poverty and improve the living standards of people in the developing world. It is a development bank which provides loans, policy advice, technical assistance and knowledge sharing services to low and middle income countries. The World Bank promotes growth to created jobs and to empower poor people to take advantage of these opportunities. |
