Have these things on hand for a complete Emergency Kit:

  • Water (at least 1 gallon/person/day)
  • Cheese cloth (to filter water)
  • Food Pack with non-perishable, high-protein items
  • Can/bottle opener
  • Flashlight with extra batteries
  • Radio with extra batteries
  • First Aid Kit
  • Candles and waterproof matches
  • Extra Car Keys
  • Cash (small bills and coins)
  • Blankets/Sleeping bags
  • Tent or tarp
  • Sanitary Supplies (toilet paper, personal hygiene supplies, etc.)
  • Prescription Medications/Eye glasses
  • Clothing and Foodwear
  • Copies of important documents (Birth Certificates, deeds, insurance policies, etc.)
  • Contact information
  • Backpack/duffel bag
  • Pet supplies (including leash, plastic bags, tags, etc.)
  • Maps
  • Tool Kit (wrench, screwdriver, pliers, knife, duct tape, and garbage bags)
  • Camping stove and propane
  • Compass
  • Entertainment Pack
