Arrival at SCU

Reporting to Santa Clara University

Upon arriving at Santa Clara University, all new students, including transfer students, are required to bring the following documents to the Global Engagement Office in the first floor of Varsi Hall within 15-days of arrival:

  • SCU SEVIS issued I-20/DS-2019 and I-20's/DS-2019's from all previous schools attended
  • Passport with F-1/J-1 visa stamp
  • I-94
  • Physical U.S. address (no P.O. boxes)

Change of status students will need to check in with a copy of the I-797A approval notice immediately upon receipt of the approval.

Please note that failure to check-in with ISS within 15-days of the begin date of classes will result in the termination of your F-1/J-1 student status. Remember, it is ultimately your responsibility to maintain your immigration status. Students transferring your SEVIS record from another school, please note that the transfer process is not complete until you check-in at ISS. International Student Orientation

We look forward to meeting you during the International Student Orientation!

International Student Orientation is mandatory for all new incoming international (F-1 and J-1) students. This program is designed to help you transition into your life as a Santa Clara University student and will cover requisite information for maintaining F-1/J-1 status, introduce you to campus resources, and provide an opportunity to meet new friends.

Note there is a $125 orientation fee for incoming graduate students only. The International Student Orientation is mandatory, and regardless of attendance, the orientation fee is automatically charged to your eCampus account. (See FAQ for more details.) International undergraduate students will not be charged a separate $125 for the orientation. However, the International Student Orientation is still required for internationals undergraduate students. To register for the orientation, please click here.
