I was interested in a program that had good weather and friendly people. I wanted a country where they spoke english and a country that would be difficult for me to travel to (ie. not Europe!).

I have learned so much about myself abroad. I was always so busy at Santa Clara with work, volunteering, school and social activities that I never had time to sit back and enjoy life. I found myself frequently stressed. Australia has a laid back lifestyle, and I have learned how to relax and enjoy people's company. I have learned how to be independent and do things on my own.  I have also learned the cutural, economical and political relationship between America and Australia. Lastly, I have learned how much I love to travel, and how much is can cost! Having fun is expensive!

Enjoy your time abroad! Save up as much money as you can before because its expensive! Travel to as many places as you can--and do a stop over on the way home! Pack as light as you can, you do not need as much as you think! Make sure you have a good backpack or small suitcase you can take for weekend trips. look at the classes ahead of time, and save as many electives as you can for abroad! Enjoy the culture and meet as many people as you can!!
