1. WHAT IS THE COST OF THE CASA PROGRAM FOR 2007-08?
The total cost of tuition, room & board of the Casa Program for all undergraduates are $14,548 for the Fall and Spring semesters and $4,200 for the summer. In addition, all non-degree seeking SCU students are required to pay other fees as specified below.
2. WHEN ARE THE TUITION & FEES DUE?
The program cost will be posted to students' eCampus accounts on August 1st (Fall), January 1st (Spring), June 1st (Summer). All oustanding balances are due by the 21st of every month for all charges billed. A $75 late payment fee and a hold that prevents registration and/or enrollment changes will be assessed to the student’s account for every month the balance remains unpaid.
3. LIST OF FEES.
- ENROLLMENT FEE: All non-SCU or non-degree seeking SCU students must pay a non-refundable, one-time $125 (Fall / Spring) and $75 (Summer) enrollment fee.
- DEPOSIT: All non-SCU or non-degree seeking SCU students must pay a $500 deposit due 30 days after their acceptance email. The deposit is credited toward tuition and is refundable to the extent that the student qualifies for a tuition refund under the Casa Refund Policy.
- LATE PAYMENT FEE: · All students are charged a non-refundable $75 late payment fee that will be added to all student accounts not paid in full by the 21st of the month the charges are billed. .
4. THE BILLING AND PAYMENT PROCESS.
- E-BILL NOTIFICATION – a. Students will be sent an email notification, to their assigned SCU GroupWise email addresses only, at the beginning of each month to inform them that their billing statement is available to view online via ecampus. It is extremely important that students forward billing information to the responsible party paying the bill (parent, guardian, home university, etc.). SCU will send bills only to students. HOWEVER, a student can simply forward the PDF billing file to the payer’s email address OR set up the payer as an authorized party to receive, and pay, future bills. Instructions on how to set up an authorized payer are located on the Bursar website www.scu.edu/bursar and on the ecampus welcome page.
- REVIEWING A STUDENT'S BILL – a. Billing statements, and a student’s statement history, can be viewed online only via ecampus. From the ecampus homepage, click on “Bursar’s Office” then “View Account/Make Payment.” These actions will take you to the QuikPay/infiNet site. From the Message Board page, click on “View Accounts.” This action will show your most recent statement. To view prior statements, go to the account actions box and select ‘statement history. Students who register, or change enrollment, after the initial billing date will not receive a revised billing statement until the next billing run.
- PAYING A STUDENT'S BILL – Students can pay their bills quickly and securely online via ecampus with an electronic check, free of charge, or by credit card. Simply follow the navigation above, click on “Make Payment” and follow the instructions. Please note that a 2.75% non-refundable service fee will be charged for all credit card transactions. Students also may send payments by mail to the address located on the remittance portion of their bills or pay directly at the Bursar’s Office located in Walsh Hall. Please remember to include the remittance portion with all payments by mail to ensure proper credit to your account. 5. HOW DO I VIEW MY STUDENT ACCOUNT?
There is a simple way to review the most current activity on a student’s account. Log into ecampus, click on “Student Service Center”, and then click on the “SCU Account Detail” link located under the Finances section (mid page.) You will be able to view all charges/credits on the account, by transaction date, and see the most current balance due. This is a very useful screen, especially if you are making enrollment changes.
6. WHAT IS THE CASA TUITION REFUND POLICY?
Students will receive a full refund of their deposit, tuition, room & board, and other fees if they provide written notification to Santa Clara University sixty (60) days prior to the commencement of the Casa de la Solidaridad program. Students withdrawing forty days before the published start date will be charged the $500 deposit. Since virtually all funds are committed once the program begins, no tuition, housing, or other fees are returned if the withdrawal occurs on or after the program start date. 7. RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITY
Students assume responsibility for all costs incurred as a result of enrollment at SCU and agree to abide by all University policies and procedures. Students are responsible for monitoring their account balances and financial aid information and for maintaining current valid address information at all times in order to ensure receipt of all University correspondence in a timely manner.
A financial hold will be placed on all accounts with unpaid balances. This hold will suppress any future registration and issuance of transcripts and diplomas. Holds will not be removed until the balance is paid, a payment agreement is established or the student has sufficient financial aid pending to clear the balance.
All unpaid balances will accrue 10 percent interest, per annum, on the balance remaining, from the date of default, in accordance with California State law. Delinquent accounts may be reported to one or more of the major credit bureaus and/or forwarded to an outside collection agency or an attorney for assistance in recovering the debt owed to the University. The student is responsible for all cost incurred such as, but not limited to, accrued interest, late fees, court costs, collection costs and/or attorney’s fees. All of the costs of collection incurred by the University, in order to get a debt collected, must be paid in full prior to a student returning to or re-enrolling at Santa Clara University.
