Things since my semester at the Casa have been pretty crazy. I'm still adjusting to life back in the States with my family and friends but I'm finding it a little easier everyday. I am excited to be finishing up my last semester at Loyola with a degree in Psychology (plus 3 minors which apparently mean nothing once you're out of college... who knew?). As this Spring semester is beginning, my friends and I are realizing that our time together is growing shorter, but we are not going to waste our time worrying about that. We plan to take advantage of everything during our last semester in Chicago.
Plans after graduation include going to Guatemala this summer for a language study. I am going to brush up on all of the Spanish Cruz taught us and hopefully learn a little more. :) Also, I am very excited to have the opportunity to go back to El Salvador and be a CF for the 2006-2007 year. I was so happy when I found out and called my family and friends right away. My Grandpa said to me, "Well that's great Allison. Then what will you do after that?" And all I had to say was, "Whoa, whoa Grandpa, let's just take one thing at a time." Haha. But it will be so amazing to be back with the becarios and the many people that became a part of my family.

The adventures ahead with new groups of Casa kids and many new lessons to be learned are some of the wonderful things that keep me awake at night. It's been a blessing to have connected with my friends here and been able to share my experience at the Casa with them. The opportunity to meet up with many of the people in my own casa group has been fun too. I continue to hold the Salvadoran people in my heart everyday and await the day when I will once again be able to look out into the distance and see the mountains and know I am home.
