Casa Alumni Reunion Retreat
May 26-29, 2006 Casa de la Solidaridad is pleased to announce the first Casa Alumni Reunion Retreat! It will be held Memorial Day weekend at Walden West conference center, just outside Saratoga, California. The nearest airport is San Jose (SJC), but you could also fly into San Francisco or Oakland. Walden West is a great place to be together with lots of space to run around, hike through trails and enjoy the beauty of nature. The idea of the reunion is to create a space where everyone can reconnect with the Casa community. We are thinking of a mixture of events / activities for the weekend: connecting with your own Casa group, meeting other Casa alumni, reflecting on where we have been since Casa and where we want to go, and simply hanging out and having fun (of course we will have to eat pupusas and drink hot chocolate). To help finance the weekend, we are thinking the following: we would like to ask those of you who live in the area and won’t need to fly to give a $25 - $50 donation. ALL of this money will be used to offset the price of flights for those who need to fly to get here. The retreat itself will be paid for by Santa Clara University. To reserve the space, we need a sense of how many would like to come. Please be in contact with Trena Yonkers-Talz as soon as possible if you would like to attend and be involved with this weekend. We currently (April) have over 40 students planning to come. We are looking forward to this time of looking back and looking forward in community.
