Current job: Good Shepherd Volunteer in Leon, Mexico for the next two years accompanying women and children.
From a recent (August 2004) email:
"Greetings Companions!! So the moment I have been anticipating for a long time is finally here! It is hard for me to wrap may mind around the reality that tomorrow at this time I will be in Leon, Mexico after so much wondering and imagining! These past couple of weeks have been filled with many goodbyes and see you laters and I am more than ready for some "hellos!" or rather "holas!"
I'm spent the last week in Nyack, NY with the Good Shepherd Volunteers being infused by the spirit of Sr. Mary Euphrasia, the foundress of the Good Shepherd order. It was a great week of being welcomed into this new family and sharing in their zeal that is so alive!
After my last supper in NYC at a Peruvian restaurant where I had green mashed potatoes we took a walk down to Union Square, the place where marchers ended their peace walk today. It was great to soak up all of the energy from the city and people who are so thirsty for a change in our system!
Even more energizing though was a surprise visit on our way home. As we neared 3rd Ave. Sr. Maureen, our director, mentioned the Catholic Worker house was down this street. Seeing my eyes light up and spirit leap from me she made a quick turn so we could stop by to say hello. To step into Mary House, one of the first CW that Dorothy Day started was a pure gift! Walking around you could feel Dorothy's spirit alive and present. It was comforting to know that Dorothy will be coming with me to Mexico along with all of you!

I'm so grateful for all the energy, enthusiasm, encouragement and love I have received I as go forth on our mission! Know you are often in my thoughts and prayers and I am grateful for your willingness to journey with me!
