Salvadoran Scholarship ("Becario") Students

The Casa has a long history of collaborating with the Salvadoran scholarship students ("becarios") at the Oscar Romero Pastoral Center at the University of Central America (UCA). Casa students have commented that the becarios are some of their best educators. Every becario comes from marginal Salvadoran community and has demonstrated a commitment to try and better life for members in their community. They are, therefore, very well informed about the struggles & hopes of everyday life.

This semester, the Casa initiated a new program entitled Programa Universitario Oscar Arnulfo Romero. We have hired Oti Guardado and Griselda Reyes to direct this program which is aimed at providing a systematic support to those becarios with the greatest need. We are excited about the ways in which this program continues to grow.
