Pre-Entry Clearance (PEC)
Due to ongoing changes in UK immigration laws as of January 2008 some SCU London students will need to obtain a visa for their time in the UK in the following circumstances:
- If they will be studying in the UK for 6 months or more (e.g. combination of Fall / Winter or Spring / Summer)
- If they will be undertaking an unpaid internship (or service learning placement) as part of their program, which all SCU London participants are required to do.
- If they will be undertaking part-time paid work in their free time
This will need to be obtained prior to arrival in the UK i.e. obtained in the US before students depart for the UK. Review the Pre-Clearance Guide (link below) to familiarize yourself with the process. Students accepted into the SCU London program will be issued an official Acceptance Letter along with their immigration letters as they need to show they are accepted the full time course for the Fall program in order to apply for the visa.
