Program Overview:

IES describes Rome as "a living museum, a unique environment to understand the ups and downs in the history of mankind. Over three million people do their daily business surrounded by 2,500 years of history – including legendary ruins, architecture, and art. The capital of Italy, Rome is the country's political center and a major religious center, being the host to the Vatican – an independent state within Rome. Studying abroad in Rome means learning from Rome and its Mediterranean pace of life – from the open markets to the sudden strikes, from the humorous Romans to the high politics of a European capital." Santa Clara has partnered with the IES Abroad program to offer a custom program specifically for students who wish to study in Rome for the Fall and Winter quarters. SCU students will enjoy the same quality course offerings and student services offered by IES Rome Study Center, but with a reduced price and a special course-load. All SCU students are required to enroll in this custom program. Program features include:

Students can choose from any of the English-taught courses at the IES Rome Study Center IES Rome Study Center.  Final course offerings will be available through the IES Rome registration process following a student's acceptance into the SCU Rome program. Course offerings are subject to change based on enrollment and other factors.
