Students will earn 12 semester hours of credit for this 8-week study abroad program at the University of Cambridge. Students are able to choose from a wide range of courses including Writing, Sciences, Economics and Finance, Business and Management, History, English Literature and Linguistics, Law, Education and Anthropology, Philosophy, History of Art, Architecture, Film, Politics, and International Relations.

Summer Sotheby?s Institute of Art courses offer interesting and compelling insights into the art world and include lectures and seminars led by Sotheby?s Institute of Art faculty, international experts and leading practitioners in the field. Visits to major collections in London?s museums, auction houses, artists? studios and royal palaces allow each participant to develop a deeper understanding of the art. The winter quarter London program is operated by Santa Clara in partnership with the Foundation for International Education (FIE.)It provides students unique opportunities for research and study with or without the internship component. Winter Quarter Students will enroll in 3 out of the following 4 electives, in addition to the required course (British Life & Cultures)- with 4 quarter credits each: Fundamentals of Finance (FNCE 121) Civilizations: Islam and the West (RSOC 22) Media in Britain (COMM 199) London Internship (INTL 119). International Internship Course (IIC) seminars would accompany the placements- with 4 quarter credits

FIE offers a summer internship program for students that combines an internship placement with classroom seminars and written reflection. Students are also required to take a British Life and Cultures course. All coursework is completed at the FIE Foundation House. The Universite Catholique de Lille's European Summer Program is a four week program for international students who want to discover Europe and learn how to speak French. Students take two courses - one French language course and an additional course in English. The English course options are: European Studies, Corporate Social Responsibilities and Sustainable Development, Tourism and Arts in France, Communication Studies, Current Practices in Renewable Energy, Computer Science, and a Historical Perspective of Mechanics and Liberal Arts in the Twentieth Century.

The IES Paris French Studies Program combines rigorous study of the French language with a broad range of classes taught in French by accomplished faculty. Students can also experience what life is like for French students by taking one or more courses at a local French university. Students can also participate in an internship or service learning opportunity to get first-hand experience working in France.

Europe : France : Strasbourg

A two-week intensive program, the Contemporary Chamber Music Intensive is designed for concert music composition and chamber music students and will bring together composers and performers for lessons, coachings, seminars and master classes with artist faculty from Europe and the United States. Four composers and four performers (making up a cohesive ensemble such as string quartet or "Messiaen" quartet of clarinet, strings and piano) will be chosen to come to Strasbourg for two weeks of rehearsals, coachings, master classes, concert attendance, and a final performance of composers' works. Additionally, each composer's work will be performed by the student ensemble on ensemble Accroche Note's summer concert series, Rencontres d'été de musique de chambre, in Strasbourg. NOTE: THE SYRACUSE APPLICATION DEADLINE DATE FOR THIS PROGRAM IS PRIOR TO THE SCU SUMMER STUDY ABROAD APPLICATION DEADLINE DATE. SUBMIT THE SYRACUSE APPLICATION TO ARCADIA BY THE FEBRUARY 20. SUBMIT THE SCU SUMMER STUDY ABROAD APPLICATION TO SCU BY MARCH 15.

Europe : France : Grenoble

The program lets students live and study in a university town in a spectacular alpine setting. The program has two levels - Level 1: Intensive French Language, for students at the intermediate level; and Level 2: Advanced University Studies, for students already proficient in French. In addition to courses, the program offers field trips to acquaint students with other significant and historic French cities.

The Santa Clara University exchange program in Lille, France provides students the opportunity to directly enroll in courses at the Universite Catholique de Lille. Students are able to take coursework in Economics, Management, Arts and Humanities, Theology, Health Sciences, Social Work, Sciences and Engineering. The Universite Catholique de Lille has some coursework offered to students in English.
