 New SCU Rome Honors Program - Fall 2009/ Winter 2010

We are happy to report that Santa Clara University has successfully negotiated a custom program option in Rome with IES at a reduced price with the same quality student, housing, and academic services provided by IES.  SCU students who have been approved to apply to the IES Rome program are given first priority in switching to this exciting new and more economical custom program option. Please review the program summary below for the Fall and Winter options and let us know if you wish to be switched to it.

 

SCU Rome Honors - Fall 2009: In partnership with the SCU Honors program, the new Fall curriculum in Rome includes the following components:

-          One seminar on religion and society in Italy which fulfills 3rd Religion core requirement (required)

-          One Italian language course (required)

-          One internship/service learning course (required for Honors; optional for others)

-          One elective course ( required)

-          Housing option: student apartments only

-          Price level I

 

SCU Rome Honors - Winter 2010: The winter quarter program offers a required Religious Studies coursecombined with two electives and an end-of-quarter study travel excursion at no additional fees other than the Winter quarter price level I fees.  

-          One required course: From Pontius Pilate to Theodosius: The Advent of Christianity

-          Two elective course from the IES Rome course offerings ( required)

-          Study travel course (required)

-          Housing option: student apartments only

-          Price level I

 

Students studying abroad during the Fall may apply to extend their stay through the winter quarter 2010.

 HOW TO SWITCH: If you are interested in switching to the SCU Rome Honors program, you may do so by emailing studyabroad@scu.edu before February 17, 2009 to make that request.
