Climate Neutrality

Santa Clara University is a Charter Signatory of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment. We first developed a Climate Neutrality Action Plan in 2010, and have a goal to achieve Climate Neutrality by 2020. 


Responsible Consumerism

The Center for Sustainability assists the University in improving its impacts on the local and global community associated with procurement (extraction, production, distribution, consumption, and disposal). 


Living Laboratory

The University strives to use the campus as living lab for developing global solutions, and supports solutions-based coursework and research to solve local and global problems with the campus as a demonstration test-bed.


Strategic Plan

Santa Clara University's 2011 Strategic Plan included "Justice and Sustainability" as one of the 5 Strategic Priorities and Goals. The University is currently developing a 2020 Integrated Strategic Plan.


Sustainability Policy

As a Jesuit and Catholic University,  SCU embraces sustainability through environmental stewardship, education, and service which furthers its mission to act as a voice of reason, conscience, and service to society.

Cultural Resources

The University values the deeply complex history of the land and aims to preserve and share the campus' diverse and cultural heritage.
