Environmental Education
From A Comprehensive Policy on Sustainability at Santa Clara University We seek to prepare our students by integrating sustainability into the goal of educating the whole person. We seek to support scholarship that advances our understanding and practice of sustainability. We recognize our role in educating the university community about the importance of both individual and institutional environmental responsibility.

Over 40 courses have been modified to discuss sustainability as a result of the 2007 Penstemon Project. In the 2007-08 academic year, 19 academic departments offered sustainability-related or sustainability-focused courses.

The Solar Decathlon, Sustainable Living Undergraduate Research Projects (SLURP), and on going dialogues about the ethics of sustainability are just a few areas of student research.

If it's not fun, it's not sustainable. Students in Grass Roots Environmental Efforts Now (GREEN), Bottom Line and Beyond (BLAB), SCU Recycles!, (and more) show the campus community how fun (and attainable) sustainability really is.
