Education and Research

  • slurpCo-Curricular Education

If it's not fun, it's not sustainable! Co-curricular education engages students with sustainability beyond the classroom. Student organizations, annual events, and residence life programming all contribute to developing a culture of sustainability and connecting students to build community while having fun.
  • classCurriculum

Sustainability is being integrated into Santa Clara University curriculum. Undergraduates can choose to participate in multiple sustainability-related pathways, including the Sustainability Pathway, which allows students to learn about sustainability from multiple disciplinary perspectives and in interdisciplinary ways. Peer-led workshops help faculty integrate sustainability into new or pre-existing curriculum. The SCU campus is frequently used as a living laboratory for students to gain research experience.
  • kopfResearch

From college-based research initiatives like the Renewable Energy Initaitive and SCIFIRM, to the Sustainable Living Undergraduate Research Project (SLURP), many faculty and students are conducting sustainability-related research.
