Want A Free Compost Pail?
Friday, Sep. 21, 2012
Attend an information session in the Learning Commons, Room 205: Monday 9/24 @ 7:30pm OR Thursday 9/27 @ 7:30pm
Limited Supply! First 100 attendees* will receive a FREE Pail.
Keep this pail in your room to compost your coffee grounds, tea bags, food scraps, and other compostable items. Contents may be emptied in your residence halls' external compost collection container.
The compost pail pilot program aims to make it easier for campus residents to divert waste. With a convenient container for compostable waste collection, residents should easily be able to divert their waste. 2012-13 is a pilot year for this program: 100 residents will test the containers and provide feedback regarding the program. Compost pails will be distributed during week 2 of fall quarter, following a brief training presentation. If successful, the program could be expanded in future years.
