  •  Want A Free Compost Pail?

    Friday, Sep. 21, 2012
    The compost pail pilot program aims to make it easier for campus residents to divert waste. 100 residents will test the containers and provide feedback regarding the program. Compost pails will be distributed during week 2 of fall quarter, following a brief training presentation. If successful, the program could be expanded in future years.

  •  Group Solar Discount Program

    Through August 31, the Silicon Valley Leadership Group is offering a special group solar discount program to Santa Clara University, to help reduce your utility bill and generate clean energy. The program is being offered to Bay Area homeowners affiliated with SCU as faculty, staff, graduate students, or alumni. UPDATE: An informational webinar is scheduled for Aug. 16.

    "...the smallest garbage can I'd ever seen. A tiny rectangular plastic container, the size of a large Tupperware for leftovers, that clips on the side of a recycling bin as big as a standard wastebasket. They've been installed in nearly all offices at Santa Clara University as a way to encourage professors and other employees to send less to the dump and more to recyclers."

  •  Waste Diversion during end-of-year move out

    11,645 lbs: the weight of items Santa Clara University donated to Hope Services during Move Out! That's over 4 lbs of donations per campus resident! Thanks for ensuring items get reused, reducing waste sent to the landfill, and especially for helping a great org!
