Stewardship - Graduation Pledge

The Graduation Pledge:

“I ______ pledge to explore and take into account the social and environmental consequences of any job I consider and will try to improve these aspects of any organizations for which I work.”

The Graduation Pledge

Santa Clara University’s students are invited to examine the social and environmental consequences of their future jobs. More and more students across the country are taking the Graduation Pledge, an opportunity for graduating students to define for themselves what it means to be socially and environmentally responsible.

Each year, more than one million students enter the work force. Think of the impact on our society if even a significant minority of applicants and job holders inquired about or attempted to improve the ethical practices of their potential or current employers.

SCU students who take the Graduation Pledge will receive a green ribbon to wear during commencement. Ribbons may be picked up anytime at the Environmental Studies Institute (874 Lafayette St, on the corner of Homestead and Lafayette, directly across from Nobili Hall).

The Graduation Pledge at SCU is supported by:
The Senior Class of 2007 Sustainability at SCU
The Career Center The GREEN Club
Net Impact The Environmental Studies Institute
