What is the purpose of the RecycleTrivia Raffle?
- The magnet and raffle have been designed together to instruct residents on proper recycling and waste disposal on campus, educate residents about the recycling process, and encourage them to actively participate in recycling on campus.
- Working towards these goals will help the University to reach its longer-term goals of reducing the University’s waste and increasing its recycling rate.
-
How does the Recycle Trivia Raffle Work?
- Campus residents have been given an informative magnet showing what kinds of materials can be recycled on campus and where these materials go. There are four raffle tickets at the bottom of each magnet (one for each of the contests).
- Once the trivia question has been announced, residents may look for the answer in the signs posted in the recycling and waste areas, Sustainability Updates, and the webpage for the SCU facebook group “scu recycles.”
- Between the Monday and Friday of the contest, residents should fill out the appropriate raffle ticket (each of them is dated to correlate with the week of the raffle) with their name, e-mail address, and trivia answer. The filled out raffle tickets should be placed in labeled collection boxes and jars, which will be placed at each residence hall’s service desk. The collection jars and boxes will be collected on the last day of the contest (Friday) at 5:00pm. All of the tickets will be put in the same container, and a first, second, and third place winner will be pulled. The resident whose ticket is chosen will only win if he has written the correct answer to the trivia question on the ticket.
