RecycleMania is a ten-week competition between colleges and universities throughout the US and Canada. Which schools can reduce their waste and recycle the most material? The contests include:

• the largest amount of recyclables per capita
• the largest amount of total recyclables,
• the least amount of trash per capita
• the highest recycling rate.
  

There are 421 schools are participating in RecycleMania.

This will be Santa Clara University’s third year participating in the competition.  This is an especially exciting year for SCU in terms of RecycleMania because students, faculty, and staff are now able to recycle more materials on campus than in any previous year!

If a RecycleManiac catches you exhibiting a sustainable behavior (recycling, using a reusable container, using reusable dishware in Benson, turning off lights, etc), you win! If you are caught green handed, you will receive a prize.
