Involved in activities, classes, or clubs that require a lot of paperwork? Switch to an online forum (such as Dropbox) and reduce your printing costs and paper waste. You can also reduce paper waste by printing pages double sided.

Holding events on campus? Try to reuse past tabling supplies instead of purchasing new materials. If the materials are no longer relevant, try to reinvent them. For example, if you have an old poster board, cover it in wrapping paper and make a new sign. You will save money and time in the process.

Old office appliances or any other kind of electronic products can be recycled on campus. If you want to discard these items, be sure to request a pick up from facilities or place them in the external bin area of your residence hall under the e-waste sign.

Happy Thanksgiving! While celebrating and giving thanks to all your friends, family, and loved ones, remember to respect the earth's natural resources. In 2010, 46 million turkeys were consumed over the Thanksgiving holiday and 22 million were consumed over Christmas. Be sure to shop wisely this season and only buy what you need instead of overindulging. Your wallet and waistline will thank you. And if you are celebrating on campus with your clubs, residence halls, or co-workers, be sure to place food scraps in the compost bins!
