The Food and Agribusiness Institute is pleased to once again sponsor and host the 4th Annual Hunger Issues Forum in collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank. The event is free; space is limited.

Keynote Presentation:
Lunch and Conversation with Ambassador Tony P. Hall, Executive Director for the Alliance to End Hunger, Former U.S. Congressman, and U.S. Ambassador to the UN agencies for food and agriculture.

The Hunger Issues Forum is a one-day event for current (and aspiring) Hunger-Free Community Organizers. It will address food access, healthy eating and highlight trends such as hunger among families, children and seniors. The Forum is designed to spark conversation and action to strengthen our community's safety net. Learn about emerging trends in local hunger through the 2010 Hunger Index from Drew Starbird, Ph.D., Dean of the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. If you are passionate about closing the meal gap, this is the place for you.

Moving Planet: A Day to Move Beyond Fossil Fuels
September 24 | Downtown San Francisco
Moving Planet will be a day to put our demands for climate action into motion--marching, biking, skating--calling for the world to go beyond fossil fuels. Join’s Bill McKibben and The Sierra Club’s Michael Brune to demand a future free of fossil fuels.

Farmers Market on Campus
Fridays, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm | Mission Gardens, near the Adobe Lodge
The Adobe Lodge hosts a weekly farmers market, featuring organic produce. Marsha Habib brings seasonal produce from the BUG Farm and nearby farms in Hollister.

The Adobe Lodge often uses produce from the BUG farm, especially during the table service program on Wednesdays. Also, most strawberries served at the faculty dining venue are also from the BUG farm. Read more about the BUG Farm.
