Innovate Impact Conference
Event postponed... new date TBA, in April.

Santa Clara University's Undergraduate Net Impact/Sustainable Business Studies Club and the Center for Science, Technology & Society are hosting an Innovate Impact Conference. The conference will feature several speakers, a buffet lunch provided by CSTS, and speed interviews where students will have the opportunity to sit one-on-one with a company for an informational 3-4 minute interview. The schedule for the event is as follows:

10:45-11:00 Introduction
11:00-12:00 Opening Speaker + Q&A
12:00-12:30 Buffet Lunch provided by CSTS
12:40-1:40 Speed Interviews
1:45-2:45 Closing Speaker

SCU Community Service Day
Apr. 21 | Various locations around Santa Clara and San Jose

The staff senate, in partnership with Alumni Services, is sponsoring the first-ever SCU Community Service Day. ALL interested students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to participate in this one day of community service event. Your friends and family members are welcome too!

As a group representing Santa Clara University, volunteers will be able to pick from a list of organized activities provided by participating community organizations. These include:

  • Park Clean Up
    • Alum Rock Park
    • Guadalupe River Park
  • Farm/Gardening
    • Bronco Urban Garden - SCU's on campus garden The Forge
    • Full Circle Farm
    • Emma Prusch Farm Park
  • Community Organizations
    • Advent Group Ministries Services
    • Casa de Clara San Jose Catholic Worker Community
    • Our Beautiful Day
    • Sacred Heart Community Service Center
    • Second Harvest Food Bank

Most of the organizations offer activities for all ages. A few may have a minimum age requirement due to a safety concern about the activity. Service projects will be completed during the morning and all participating volunteers are invited to a lunch being held in the Donohoe Alumni Gardens at 1:30 p.m. that day.

Spring Rebuilding Day
Apr. 28 | Various locations in Silicon Valley

Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley is a non-profit organization that performs free home accessibility and safety repairs/modifications for older adults and disabled homeowners in Santa Clara County. It also serves other non-profit organizations so that they can dedicate their resources to the community rather than to facility repair. Rebuilding Together brings communities and volunteers together to rehabilitate the homes of low income homeowners, particularly the elderly and disabled, so that they may live in warmth, safety and independence.

Registration is Open for Spring Rebuilding Day. Sign up as an individual or a small group of 5 or fewer. To sign up with your organization, office, or faith based group: Please e-mail for more information.
