Not goodbye but See you later

I was packing up on Saturday and I was pretty sad as I started to put away all these things that made up my little "home" here at Santa Clara.

I can't believe the year went by so fast and it's kind of scary because people are telling me that every year after goes by even faster. I guess it's like my girlfriend says though "time flies when you’re having fun" and I have had fun, lots and lots of fun with all the amazing people that I have met during my first year here at Santa Clara. I know that some of the friends I have made here are real honest friends who would be there for me whenever I needed them. In the beginning I wasn't sure if I could ever make new close friends outside of my crew from high school but I did just that because it was easy to do so. The majority of the people here are just so welcoming and open that it’s hard not to make friends and I am glad I've met all the people I have here at Santa

Clara. Now I won't lie to you and say everyone is great because therehave been some people I have met that have annoyed me and that I wish I had never had to deal with but thats life because in life not everyone is going to rub you the right way. Some people are going to annoy you even at a place like Santa Clara but you can't worry about them because if you do, then you miss out on the people who make you smile. Speaking of which I just want to thank my girlfriend for the best school year I've ever had, She’s one of the reasons I'm sure I made the right decision to come to this University because If I hadn't I never would have met her and in my life meeting her has made all the difference. As I packed up my photos off my wall of friends and family I thought about my family in particular. I thought about how I had been gone from them for quite a while and how I had missed them so much. Not the big things like going on trips with them because I still did that but the little things about my family that I love so much. Like seeing my dad come home from work and get all happy when he sees us all or eating the wonderful food my Grandma makes. Playing videogames with my little brother and strangely arguing with my little sister as well as just seeing my mom’s smile. In that respect I am glad to be going home because I'll get to experience those things again. But I am going to miss allot of things or the summer like the freedom to do whatever I want whenever I want. At home I can’t go out at 12 to go get some mozzarella sticks a pizza or a smoothie from the bronco. I can’t go 100 yards and get to the gym; I can't get a big group to go out t lunch in a matter of minutes. I’m going to miss a lot of things but hey it’s not goodbye… its see you later. Have a great summer everyone and I hope to see you guys next year.
