Data Analysis with Excel

This advanced class is offered in one part and will cover various data analysis formulas and tools available in Excel that are often used to make business decisions. Problem based scenarios utilizing Excel formulas and data analysis tools will be used to maximize learning and retention. Preview Class Handout »

  • Understand and apply Sorting and Filtering function
    Sort Data, Auto Filter, Advanced Filter including creating a criteria range, filter in place and copy to another location. Group and Subtotal functions for quick analysis. Performing other calculations.
  • Using Worksheet Functions
    Learn to use formulas that expedite analysis of data: Sum, Max, Min, Average, Large, Median
  • Create a Custom Chart
    Create a Line-Column chart on two axes.
  • Pivot Tables
    Manipulate large amounts of data by summarizing and evaluating the data. Grouping data and adding calculated fields.
  • Create a Pivot Chart
    Explore the dynamics of a Pivot Chart
  • Learn to use lookup Arrays
    Vlookup
Prerequisites:

Familiarity with Excel. Note that this is NOT an introduction to Excel class. It is preferable that you have attended the Up and Running with Excel class prior to coming to class.
