Major in Mathematics
Prepare for teaching, research, or an advanced degree, or specialize with an emphasis in applied or actuarial mathematics.
As a mathematics major at Santa Clara University, you’ll have a number of career options. Your studies will prepare you for graduate studies leading to an advanced degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, operations research, or other fields; you’ll gain the knowledge needed to teach mathematics or computer science at the secondary school level; or you can open the door to a research career in business, industry, or government. The mathematics major may be taken with an emphasis in applied mathematics or actuarial mathematics. Minors in mathematics or computer science are also available.
