How to Apply

You can complete the Common Application and Santa Clara University Common Application Supplement online. Remember you will still need to complete and send us other required forms from the Admission Application/Financial Aid Forms Packet, as well as any other forms/documents not included in the packet.

Click here to access the Common Application. Be sure to fill out the  SCU supplement to the Common Application, and submit both forms to be considered for the class of 2012.

To be considered for admission to Santa Clara University, you must submit the following items:

  1. A $55 application fee (non-refundable)
  2. The Common Application
  3. The SCU supplement to the Common Application
  4. One letter of recommendation from a teacher or a counselor (maximum of three)
  5. The Secondary School Report (located at the Common Application website)
  6. Official high school transcript
  7. Official SAT I or ACT scores

When your application is complete, send all materials to:

Examinations

Official reports of test scores should be sent directly to the Undergraduate Admission Office from the testing service.

  • Santa Clara University will accept either the SAT or the SAT Critical Reasoning Test. The ACT may be taken in lieu of or addition to the SAT. The ACT writing assessment is optional.
  • The highest verbal and the highest math scores attained on the SAT, even if taken on different test dates, will be used.
  • The SAT school code for Santa Clara is 004851 and for the ACT it is 0468.
Additional Materials

Items such as CDs, slides, and videos will  not be reviewed by the admission committee.  All such work that requires a special review by SCU's Music, Art, or Theatre and Dance departments should be sent directly to the appropriate department. Please do not send originals of artwork, awards, or certificates as they cannot be returned.
